Taking It All In

What a beautiful day to be outside, even if you have to wear a sweater. I love sitting on the swing listening to the singing birds and letting my heart be inspired by the nature that surrounds me. What an awesome God it took to create all this. I am so very blessed that I live in a country where I can say that without fear for my life. So thank you, ALL MILITARY PERSONNEL, (past and present) for all of your sacrifices. I <3 you for what you've done for me.

As the fresh air fills my lungs today I am preparing for some potentially difficult days ahead. It's kind of like I'm storing up God's goodness to draw from on another day. I'm kind of a silly girl, when skies are gray and dreary outside, so goes my attitude. So, I shall need a full well of His living water to drink from as I thirst.

I'm off to have lunch with my husband. Have a good day :o)
It is well ...

Counting My Blessings

I have so many things to be thankful for, but sometimes I don't think I have a very thankful attitude. Make sense? Let's just get real. There will always be things in this life that we have to deal with. Unpleasant things, hurtful things, etc ... but life goes on and we learn to deal. I'm so greatful for so many things and so many people in my life but sometimes my countenance doesn't show it. So what's up with that?
Plus I have a headache, ugh.
I have completely gotten myself off of caffeine and carbonated drinks, so that's not the cause. I've already been through and conquered the caffeine withdrawal headaches, so I know that this is not from that. Probably stress. We all have stress. We will always have SOMEthing to deal with.
So to help me find my smile today, I'm going to count my blessings out loud.

1. Jesus
2. Because of Him, I do not have to burn in Hell
3. My children
4. Family
5. Chocolate
6. Angry Birds

Got a list you want to share? Bring it on!

Good Morning

Today I'm feeling rather inspirational. I kinda like that feeling. My heart is peaceful, though there will always be issues to resolve. I guess my faith is what brings that peace. No, I'm sure of it.

Ben's Birthday

Today my baby boy, Ben, turns 6 years old. Saying how quickly time flies is so cliche, so I'll spare you. I sure do miss the days of snuggling up with my newborn baby. I do not, however, miss the dirty diapers. I'll never forget the smell of his baby breath, the touch of his little baby toes, or the feel of his baby breath on my neck. The joys of motherhood never leave my heart. For this, I am most thankful.

Hello World

Well hello there, world! Once again it has been way too long since I've been on here. Time to up my game. I'm sitting here listening to Michael Buble and I can hear the sweet little birds a chirpin' outside. Ahh, music to my ears.

Beautiful Blue Skies

I spent part of my afternoon out by the pond. There was some fishing that needed to be done. I've always loved to sit by the water, cast a line, and contemplate the meaning of this vast universe. After all, the boys were asleep and that's pretty much the only time I have to myself. On most days, I take a nap along with them, but today the fish were taunting me.

It is so peaceful here. The wind is blowing, the birds are chirping, frogs are doing their froggy things, and dragonflies are busy mating. The sky is the perfect shade of blue. (Also the color of my husband's eyes) The grass is so green and the air just smells fresh. With the exception of the pond water; but even that smell is welcome on days like today.

The quiet time gives my mind a rest. I can think about nothing or I can think about serious stuff. This is the time when I can forget about the dust on my computer screen. When I can forget that I seriously need to get to the grocery store. I can even forget about the fact that I need to wax my eyebrows (again). I have a really good life, don't get me wrong. It's just really nice to be able to be "thought free" for a little while.

I'm a little puzzled about why on earth my 5 year old told me he wants to die when he sees people crying. HUH? Where'd he hear that one? Five year olds don't want to die. What's up with THAT? Nevermind, I'm fishing. I'm clearing my mind. I'll pull a Scarlett and think about that tomorrow.

My 9 year old talks nonstop. I mean NON STOP. Usually about LEGOS. Really? I mean, is there really that much to talk about? Puh-leeze. He is also the one who likes to just sit beside me outside. Sometimes I can even get him to stop talking but that usually takes money. Yeah. I have to pay him to do his schoolwork, too. No, I'm not kidding.

I wish you guys could hear what I am hearing. It is so peaceful. All but the tapping of my laptop's keys. Yes, I am done fishing for the moment and I have moved to the swing. I AM talented enough to type and swing at the same time, though I can rarely walk and talk without stumbling.

Maybe where ever you are-the skies are just as blue today. I hope so, I'd hate for anyone to miss this. God is truly an awesome artist. Wow.

Long time, no see

Well hello there world. It's been a while since I've kept up with my blogging. I promise I'll do better. There's been so much going on. We moved for one thing. I hate moving. I hate unpacking boxes. I'd rather just ... go take a nap. Hmph. Like that's gonna happen.

Easter is my favorite time of year. Thank God for Easter. Without it, I'd be destined to burn in Hell. How about you? Easter just spells a new beginning, to me. It signals Spring, new life, flowers, little birds chirping, and of course those hollow chocolate bunnies. Mmm! Good stuff! Yes, I bite the ears off first, you know you do, too. Admit it.

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter holiday with your families. Blessings to you, and here's hoping for many new beginnings.
